How Does YOUR POSITION Help Us Work Toward OUR MISSION?
- Assess material and labor requirements for specific projects and repairs.
- Procure equipment, tools and other necessary items for projects and ongoing maintenance needs.
- Complete planned maintenance work and work orders.
- Serve as liaison to departments, faculty, staff, physical plant management and outside contractors.
- Drive a vehicle if needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Prior experience working in facility maintenance is desired.
- Forklift and/or conveyor repair is a plus. Previous experience performing duties associated with Siemens or Allen Bradley Programmable Controllers or other relative PLC's is desired but not required.
- Additional experience with other crafts such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry and welding will contribute to a well-rounded candidate.
The Following Skills Related To Electrical Trade Are Desired
- Ability to replace electric motors, switches and wires as required.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment, relays and AC and DC motors.
- Troubleshoot and repair input and output control devices.
- Ability to work with 3-phase electrical systems
- Must be able to read instructions, blueprints and manuals.
- Must be able to use any meters, hand tools and shop equipment required to perform tasks.
- Able to run conduit and bending pipe
- Knowledge of NEC a plus
- Experience with voltage up to and including 480v
