JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the upkeep and operating condition of all brewing, cellaring, and packaging equipment. They manage a staff of Maintenance Mechanics and Fabricators to provide full coverage of all potential operational upsets, schedule regular maintenance initiatives, and maintain a full inventory of spare parts and tools. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for scheduling personnel to work off hours (overtime, holidays, weekends, etc.) to complete down-time maintenance-oriented tasks. They collaborate with external resources and contractors to perform all specialized maintenance tasks while tracking and maintaining annual budgets. The Maintenance Manager ensures that all major work performed, and parts ordered are accurately recorded and added to parts inventory.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specifically, the responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
- Manage a team of maintenance technicians, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance of equipment and facilities.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify and address any issues or potential hazards.
- Work closely with Brewing staff, Packaging staff, QC staff, Engineering staff, and sub-contractors as a cross functional team member to meet all production needs.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement timely repairs to minimize production delays.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies necessary for maintenance activities.
- Manage and maintain all cleanliness, organization for new and existing work spaces.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, and promote a culture of safety awareness among maintenance staff.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors as needed for specialized repairs or maintenance projects.
- Act as key liaison during emergency unscheduled repairs of brew house, cellar, and packaging equipment as needed.
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing resource allocation.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and expenditures.
- Manage other maintenance projects as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in a manufacturing or brewery environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as industrial equipment and machinery.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and reliability-centered maintenance principles.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team of maintenance technicians.
- Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a hands-on approach to resolving maintenance issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in industrial maintenance.
- Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
