Description


Job Purpose:

The Maintenance Foreman will plan and direct the work of crews based on job criteria including size of crew, work complexity, and any applicable state or federal requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Foreman is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and managing operations and maintenance work within a multi-craft workforce and for establishing and sustaining a culture of safety and continuous improvement. The Foreman provides motivation and direction to the project team(s), typically through Lead Technicians and Crew Leads. Decisions made in this position have an impact on the resource requirements, scope/schedule/sequence of project activities, client and/or team satisfaction, risk profile, quality, health/safety/environment, and financial performance of one or more projects. The Foreman is also responsible for leading by example and acting in accordance with our values and guiding principles.

Customer Focus:

  • Initiates and maintains positive working relationships with client representatives and other internal and external customers to facilitate project activities, understands current and future customer needs and continually strives to exceed customer expectations.
  • Regularly seeks customer feedback, measures customer satisfaction and acts on results to improve performance.
  • Monitors performance of key metrics required on the contract. Measures customer satisfaction and acts on results to better meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Monitors and reports to management and clients on the progress of all program activities, including significant milestones, and any conditions that affect program cost or schedule.

Safety Leadership:

  • Provides Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) guidance and leadership, including the provision of resources and leadership to empower Worley employees to be accountable for their actions with respect to HSE.
  • Drives, promotes, and instills a culture of “Safety Leadership” that is incident and injury free and in which all employees feel responsible for safety and pursue it daily.
  • Promotes a safety culture that supports and encourages employees to go beyond the “call of duty” to identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and are comfortable intervening to correct inappropriate behaviors and concerns.
  • Leads by example and sets the tone for Worley HSE and client programs, rules, procedures, processes, task specific procedures and training and encourages Worley employees under their direct supervision to take ownership of HSE issues and concerns.
  • Oversees programs and initiatives to educate and train employees on the requirement to assess the risks applicable to tasks and required work. Ensures they have the understanding and capability to implement appropriate procedures and/or controls to reduce risk to an acceptable level and that each use any required personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Consistently ensures enforcement and compliance of Worley and client HSE policies, procedures, and requirements. Ensures employees complete mandated HSE training.
  • Personally, complies with Worley’s HSE policies and expectations.

People Management, Development & Communication:

  • Communicates the organization’s strategy and goals and ensures employees understand the importance of their contribution to the organization towards delivering results.
  • Manages performance, compensation, employee development and work force planning for the organization. Drives productivity through direct feedback and coaching, addressing areas of concern/competence, client experience and knowledge with each team member.
  • Monitors training and compliance with contract and company safety and environmental procedures and policies; documents and ensures that corrective measures are implemented when required.
  • Ensures all crew members have the required skills and abilities to perform job tasks safely and correctly.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Promote safe work practices and implement company and client safety policies for the work crew, including proper hazard recognition and mitigation.
  • Walk down projects, develop a safe execution plan, and estimate the work accordingly.
  • Ensure all crew members have the required skills and abilities to perform job tasks safely and correctly.
  • Assign a mentor to new crew members and verify that mentoring process is followed and completed.
  • Initiate and complete the Short Service Employee program with new and returning employees.
  • Regularly communicate expectations to the crew with respect to work execution, safety, procedures, efficiency and encourage open communication from team members.
  • Provide regular and timely feedback regarding performance.
  • Make certain that all incidents are promptly reported.
· Continually seek improvement in work processes · Measure work progress efficiency and effectiveness using various programs. This include but is not limited to estimate tracking, job plan feedback from the crew leads, White Hat Audits, and Good Catches.
  • Audit permits and PTSP cards for complete job hazard assessment and proper mitigation.
  • Perform regular shop, field, and vehicle inspections.
  • Manage crew’s schedule including preparing Work Schedule Changes and resolving billeting issues.
  • Approve time and ensure any required approvals for holdovers or additional overtime are obtained.
  • Conduct bi-weekly safety meeting for crew.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient and effective alternate relationship.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to plan, coordinate, and efficiently execute jobs that involve multiple crafts. This will often include pipefitters, welders, insulators, scaffolders, QC, engineering, electrical, instrumentation, and equipment operators.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment applicable to petrochemical operation.
  • Ability and knowledge to interpret Isolation drawings and redline drawings.
  • Knowledge in fabrication, assembly, handling, installation, dismantling, adjustment, alteration, and repair of all oilfield process facilities equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety policies, procedures, and standards applicable to the Maintenance Crafts.
  • Ability to communicate clear direction to work crew Leads, Crews, Management, and the Customer.
  • Ability to work as part of a team; communicate effectively with fellow workers and alternate; and demonstrate commitment to established safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to direct others in planning and scheduling work execution Ability to recognize and correct gaps in the safe execution of Campaign Maintenance work scopes.

  • Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, reach through low and high ranges, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.
  • Must stand throughout evaluation.
  • Aerobic capacity evaluation via 3-minute step test.
  • Sit and reach and range of motion evaluations.
  • Lift 25 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.
  • Lift 25 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.
  • Carry 25 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Previous experience working in three or more of the following disciplines: mechanical piping, structural and scaffold disciplines, rigging, bolt up, pipefitting installation
  • Five (5) years of effectively leading and mentoring technicians.
  • Five (5) years of field maintenance experience.
  • Proficient in Office Suite programs (i.e. word, excel, & outlook).
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to be covered by Worley auto insurer.
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.
