We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Electrician to join our team and ensure that our rides and attractions are effectively maintained and operated.
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Maintenance Electrician, you will play a key role in the maintenance and upkeep of electrical systems, lighting, and ride control systems within Morgans Wonderland and Inspiration Island. Your responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting electrical issues, and maintaining the safety and reliability of electrical components throughout the park.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and testing of electrical systems, including lighting, lighting control panels, and ride mechanisms to ensure safe reliable operation.
- Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in amusement park rides, attractions, and facilities, and implement repair solutions to maintain safety and minimize downtime.
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical components such as motors, sensors, limit switches, relays, and control systems for ride operation and safety.
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to understand ride and facility wiring, control systems and equipment specifications.
- Participate in the installation, modification, and upgrading of electrical systems and ride components. To improve performance and safety.
- Work independently and as a team with ride operators, technicians, and other maintenance personnel to schedule and execute electrical maintenance and inspections.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts inventory and provide input on maintenance planning and improvement.
- Adhere to electrical codes and regulations and ensure all work is performed in compliance with industry standards and park safety policies.
- Assist in setup and dismantling of seasonal attractions, ensuring that electrical connections and systems are installed and removed safely and efficiently.
- Provide training and support to ride operators and maintenance staff on electrical equipment operation, safety practices, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
MANDATORY AND DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship program or certification in electrical work.
- Proven experience as an electrician preferable in a similar environment such as amusement parks, entertainment venues, or facilities with complex electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Experience with maintenance and repair of control systems, electric motors, sensors, and safety devices commonly used in amusement park rides.
- Flexibility to work a schedule that will include weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
- Must be comfortable working at heights greater than 100 feet.
- Background check and drug test will be conducted upon employment offer.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Valid electrician license
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking and scheduling maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of OSHA and industry safety regulations related to amusement park operations.
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment, such as forklifts or scissor lifts, for maintenance tasks.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Maintenance Electrician will primarily work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, as well as in indoor maintenance areas and workshops. The role may involve exposure to loud noises, heights, and moving machinery, and may require the use of personal protective equipment as necessary. The position will also require the ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
