PrideNow is hiring a skilled Maintenance Electrician for a direct hire opportunity in Trenton, NJ.
Shifts Available:
2nd shift - Mon–Fri - 2pm-10pm
3rd shift – Sun–Thurs – 10pm-6am
BRIEF DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS
Perform complicated maintenance work. Preferred to have journeyman’s papers with 3 to 5 years’ (including apprenticeship) or 7 to 10 years of experience performing complex work in industrial maintenance as a Maintenance Electrician.
Primary Responsibilities: Performs any combination of (but not limited to) the following duties according to specific department guidelines:
- Determine the existence of electrical hazards and problems. Safely isolate, ground, and prepare circuits and electrical apparatus to enable repairs.
- Have knowledge of and use the required personal protective equipment to protect against arc flash and shock.
- Experience in reading and troubleshooting from blueprints & schematics with system voltages 240 and 480 three-phase systems.
- Troubleshoot and maintain motor control centers, motor start circuits, control loops, generators, high voltage switchgear, protective relaying, and related equipment.
- Read/interpret engineering drawings and manuals to install, calibrate and maintain electrical apparatus. Work from complex engineering and manufacturers drawings or manuals to complete projects and assigned work.
- Install electrical conduit, pull and terminate wiring.
- Ability to use electrical/electronic testing equipment to such as multi-meters, ammeters, megohm meters, high potential testers, oscilloscopes, digital probes to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Use hand and power tools related to the electrical trades.
- Install and maintain control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, circuit breakers, and control panels.
- Install and maintain drive systems such as variable frequency drives, eddy current, and DC drives.
- Install and maintain (point to point wiring, equipment replacement) programmable logic control systems (PLC).
- Install and calibrate pressure, temperature, flow, and level controls.
- Observe installed systems to detect hazards and determine the need for adjustments or modifications.
- Design layout work on panels, set up complex control systems, interpret and alter engineering drawings and wiring diagrams if required.
- Repair or replace faulty electrical equipment, including electronic controls, meters, outlets, panels and small mechanical devices such as motors.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Effectively communicate problems and solutions to resolve electrical problems.
- Participate in the on-the-job training of line mechanics and apprentices as needed.
- Use computerized maintenance system to retrieve and enter information.
- Observe safe work practices and ensure work does not endanger others.
- Perform other duties as required.
