Maintenance Clerk

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Clerk will organize and maintain proper stock levels in the maintenance inventory, process parts purchase requests, research suitable substitutes for discontinued parts and search for vendors for needed supplies. The Clerk will ensure parts are on hand for projects and scheduled repairs, follow up with vendors on parts orders, receive and document incoming shipments, and maintain information within the CMMS system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safety should be the top priority for all maintenance job activities.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor/Maintenance Planner with all manner of Maintenance Excellence initiatives and processes.
• Utilize CMMS to optimize current parts inventory and set appropriate min/max levels for all maintenance inventory based on criticality and lead time.
• Issue POs and ordering of parts per stocking level replenishment process or for direct work order.
• Reception of parts and maintenance goods both physically and in various software systems.
• Work with outside vendors and contractors as needed to support the daily functions and projects of the maintenance team.
• Coordinate maintenance document archive system, to include filing both physical and electronic documents.
• Prepare and present reports as requested.
• Assist Maintenance Technicians with basic maintenance tasks.
• Completion of other similar tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Manager/Maintenance Planner

Qualifications:

• Able to consistently act independently and prioritize work.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet search engines).
• Able to work with software to issue POs, receive items, scheduling software, maintenance software, etc.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of problem-solving techniques / tools.
• Strong written, verbal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of different parts used in industrial, building, and facilities maintenance.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Work Environment:

• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
• Squatting, crouching, turning, twisting, stretching, climbing steps, grabbing, pulling, pushing, and bending. On feet for 8-12 hours daily on concrete floors.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Visual and hearing acuity within normal limits.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Ability to collaborate and maintain Garlock's commitment to a Food Safe environment.

Typical environment of manufacturing and production facilities. Exposure includes but is not limited to continuous noise, scent of materials, bright workstations, machinery with moving parts.
