The Novelis Molten Metal Processing team is seeking a Maintenance and Reliability Intern. The person in this role will report to the Maintenance and Reliability Engineering Leader. The ideal candidate will be responsible for some introductory level Web Page Development using Python or C#, some HMI modifications, and some equipment analytics using PI. This position will directly improve the facility inventory process and molten metal production.
Responsibilities:
- Learn, develop, and program an inventory checkout page using Python, C#, Ignition or some other compatible dynamic web development application.
- Learn and improve operator’s screens through incremental adjustments to existing programs.
- Develop data analytics using PI and with direction from supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Third- or fourth-year student in Engineering
- Completion of a basic circuits course
- Completion of a basic programming course
- Initiative and willingness to learn the necessary skills to accomplish introductory level engineering work in an industrial environment
- Able to climb ladders and work around industrial equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with PLCs, drives, microcontrollers, and HMIs
- Experience programming and developing basic web pages with transactional database backends
