Position Summary:
The Maintenance and Calibration Mechanic is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the general maintenance of equipment and the facility. In this position, the primary duty is to maintain, monitor, and routinely inspect and repair instruments and equipment to make sure they are calibrated correctly and are providing accurate measurements. This position is also responsible for the day-to-day operations of all facility-related activities to ensure smooth operations and compliance with safety regulations.
Job Function:
- Receives and coordinates work order requests from various departments.
- Responsible for resolving or outsourcing facility-related projects.
- Oversees repairs to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and compressed air equipment that can be completed by in-house team or outside contractors.
- Coordinates the daily schedules/tasks including but not limited to, routine maintenance, facilities upkeep, building emergencies, and pest control.
- Responds to emergency alarm systems.
- Coordinates with EHS team and HR on building access points, safety protocols, and when there is an impact to facility opening (due to weather or other natural disaster)
- Monitors utility systems and assigns various monthly inspections.
- Coordinates the relocation (if applicable) and setup of departments and/or workspaces including offices, cubicles, conference rooms, cafeteria, etc.
- Responsible for keeping a set of master keys for any lock in the building in the event of an emergency.
- Responsible for the inventory of company tools, and equipment.
- Opening & closing of company, on a rotation schedule.
- Manage the facility camera security systems, safety alarms, fire safety systems, electrical and telecommunications systems.
- Uses voltage and amperage meters, pressure gauges, and other test equipment while performing Maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
- Create/Maintain maintenance procedures and schedules for production equipment.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems (Process instrumentation diagrams, block diagrams, and drawings).
- Work with purchasing to obtain required equipment by gathering information from users and vendors.
- Communicate with machine suppliers regarding possible problems with equipment.
- Revise class of use, shorten or extend calibration cycle intervals, recommend calibration service suppliers, and withdraw from service equipment out of calibration.
- Trains production operators on routine preventive maintenance.
- Provides timely notification to departments of required re-calibration and maintenance.
- Maintain records of all equipment, certifications, and Calibration/repair information.
- Performs and signs off on all in-house calibration for selected equipment such as torque wrench, pneumatic/electric screwdriver, wrist strap tester etc, and coordinates calibration and repair schedule with outside calibration source, as needed.
- Qualify and assign serial numbers for new or modified test fixtures.

Qualifications:
- Degree or certification in Electrical Technologies/Technician, is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience with facility systems and services in an industrial environment
- Comprehensive understanding of the safe operation of use for tools, machinery, and systems.
- Have working knowledge of alarm and fire systems, electrical and telecommunications systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams and follow SOPs and specifications.
- Proven experience in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting set-ups, adjustments, and some repair of industrial equipment in mechanical and electrical pneumatic areas.
- Must have a strong demonstrated ability to read and communicate in English orally and in writing- proficient in Spanish is also preferred.
- Forklift (Hi-Lo) certified, is preferred.
