This position, under the Operational Performance Management (OPM) department, is primarily responsible for developing data delivery and automation solutions for internal customers. The primary focus is NASCO and local claims from mainframe data sources. A secondary focus is to help with automation solutions utilizing Access, Excel, SQL Server, and SSIS.
Excellent communication and customer service oriented skills are required. This position has daily customer interaction and the successful candidate must have proven abilities to extract and analyze requirements from customers at all levels of the organization.
Additional skills and requirements are; conduct analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of data and automation solutions. With general guidance and coaching, performs technical design and development of data and automation solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains those solutions. Ensures the SDLC methodology is followed; conducts inspections and post implementation reviews. Partners with business personnel to conduct analysis of data and automation requests. Acts as a primary liaison with the user area for development and modifications to existing solutions. Significant creativity is required. Other duties may be assigned.

Required Skills/Experience
- Efficient in Microsoft tools: Access, Excel Macros, and SQL Server.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of mainframe development tools and processes
- Mainframe - JCL, SAS, TSO, Endevor, Pal
- Knowledge of claims operations or experience with NASCO claims
- Experience in documenting user requirements, developing conceptual and detail designs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Work and interact well in a team environment with different team-member-s skill sets
- Must be self-motivated and be able to work under pressure
- Results oriented while being flexible to adjust to a dynamic environment
- Ability to work with minimal direction while exhibiting good follow-through

Preferred Skills/Experience
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years mainframe related experience preferred.
- SSIS skills are preferred, but not required.
- Mainframe Experience - COBOL, SyncSort, FileAid
- Previous work experience with MS Access, Excel macros, SSIS, or SQL Server 2005/2008 would be considered a plus
- Experience with developing mainframe reports with business requirements
- Mainframe SDLC using Endevor packages to move elements to production
Educational Requirements
-Bachelor?s Degree in related field preferred.
