ANNOUNCEMENT: Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time, SWICEE position of Mailroom Coordinator.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this position requires a thorough knowledge of US Postal Service regulations and technical requirements, and of the special requirements of presort and mail-service vendors. Work involves coordinating and supervising the operation of the college mailroom. This position is responsible for troubleshooting mail-related problems and requires independent judgment and initiative in the organization of tasks and duties. The position supervises part-time workers and student workers. Works independently, refers unusual or more complex matters to supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associate degree or 30 college semester hours plus two (2) years of mail-related full-time work experience; OR high school diploma or GED certificate plus four (4) years of mail-related full-time work experience. Associate degree or equivalent will be preferred. Work experience in a higher education environment will be preferred.
2. Prior experience of and proficiency in mail preparation and mailroom functions is strongly preferred.
3. Knowledge of and proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software is required (MS Office suite currently used by SWIC is preferred).
SALARY: $33,472 per year
