SalaryWe're looking for a Mail Processing Clerk at Summit NJ 07901.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Customer Service Area:Oversee the Customer Service area to ensure it is always staffed and functional.
Maintain records and files in an organized manner.
- Postal Regulations and Computer Basics:Possess a good working knowledge of postal regulations.
Demonstrate basic computer skills, including proficiency in Excel.
- Backup Capacity:Perform work in a backup capacity for all staff functions as needed.
- Problem Resolution:Provide timely and effective problem resolution.
Interface with the client contact when required.
- Operational Efficiency:Keep the manager informed of operational efficiencies and potential problems.
- Overtime and Leadership:May be required to work overtime periodically.
Ability to set priorities and demonstrate leadership qualities.
- Mailroom Functions:Perform all mailroom functions, including sorting and organizing mail.
Handle delivery of mail, accountable mail, and packages.Process outgoing mail using postage machine.
- Equipment Maintenance:Ensure that equipment, including the folder/inserter machine, is in good working order.
Utilize the shredding bins and maintain them as needed.
Qualifications:
- Communication:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Teamwork:Ability to effectively work individually or in a team environment.
- Computer Skills:Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Excel.
- Physical Requirements:Ability to handle mail or hand cart, as well as a flatbed.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Note: This position requires attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
