Job Description
Express Employment is looking for a Mailroom Clerk to handle, sort and distribute envelopes and packages. This position will also help cover the front desk as a Receptionist and shipping/receiving department as needed. This is a full time position 1st shift, Monday to Friday located in Kenosha.
Responsibilities for the Mail Room Clerk:
- Sign for incoming registered or certified mail
- Sort mail by department, location or category (e.g. bills, notices, personal)
- Keep records of incoming packages, including their weight, return address and description
- Collect and prepare correspondence to be mailed
- Track mailroom supplies (e.g. stamps, envelopes, address labels)
- Assist with coverage for the Front Desk Receptionist by answering phones and greeting guest
- Driving the company van to and from the Kenosha Post Office, internal mail route deliveries
- Operation of various office equipment including, the postage machine, folder/stuffer machine, Xerox and Ricoh copiers
- Will serve as a fill-in shipping / receiving clerk forklift operator, utilize automation scanning software for day-to-day package management, package distribution, receive incoming freight, setup/palletize outgoing freight
Requirements for the Mail Room Clerk:
- Proven experience as a Mail Clerk or Office Clerk
- Good computer skills
- Ability to learn the operations postage machines, folder/stuffer machine, Ricoh and Xerox copy machines and other mailroom processes
- Ability to be on your feet 6-8 hours each day and walk 3 or more miles per day
- High school diploma required
- Certifiable to operate power equipment (requiring special testing)
- Must have valid Driver license
- Must be able to lift 50+lbs
