THE POSITION

The Department of Labor & Industry is seeking energetic and dynamic individuals that enjoy physical activity, to apply for multiple openings as a Mail Production Operator within the Bureau of Administrative Services. This position gives you the opportunity to process a large volume and variety of mailable, time sensitive material using large-scale mail-inserting machines.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Mail Production Operator, within the Bureau of Administrative Services, you will be responsible for processing a large volume of mailable, time sensitive, material with associated forms and envelopes. Processing of this material is accomplished by utilizing large-scale mail-inserting machines. Other duties include, being responsible for individual equipment and system preparation, including general maintenance; operation of sophisticated, computer-driven, high-speed letter and flat mail insertion machines; and postal security device (Meter). You will have the opportunity to utilize a software tracking system to ensure accurate and complete processing of all materials.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as a Mail Production Assistant; or
  • One year of clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
