Robert Half has a great Mail Clerk position available for a local client in Meridian! The position will start towards the end of January and will be ongoing.
This Mail Clerk position involves processing incoming and outgoing mail, postage charges and making bank deposits for the companies.
Primary Responsibilities: (The Mail Clerks will coordinate with and work together with each other to perform the following responsibilities on a daily basis)
• Pick up mail at Post Office.
• Open, sort and distribute mail according to destination.
• Stamp all checks with bank endorsements.
• Deliver and pick-up interoffice routing and outgoing mail between company building locations.
• Calculates all postage charges on incoming Business Reply Mail to be charged back to the appropriate departments.
• Prepare outgoing mail for pick-up.
• Operate postage machine and track costs by department for charge backs.
• Operate folding and inserting machines.
• Prepare certified mail from departments and take to post office.
• Prepare and sort all mail intended for agents.
• Pull, seal and meter agent’s outgoing mail.
• Meter all policyholder outgoing mail.
• Keep mail rack supplied with envelopes and labels.
• Keep mail rack updated with new agents, address changes and cancellations.
Additional Responsibilities
• Drive company vehicle for performing business-related errands.
• Make company deposits at the banks.
• Help to cover for each other during one’s absence.
• Downtime is spent helping with other Operation Service duties as workload allows.
• Other duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). May require job related course-work;
• Must have valid driver's license and good driving record;
• Strong customer service skills;
• Ability to work under pressure;
• Must have good time management skills;
• Must be able to follow directions;
• Must have an attention to detail;
• Displays a good-natured, cooperative attitude and is pleasant with others on the job.
