Job Description
Our manufacturing division is seeking a Machinist Programmer with experience programming 3- and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes. You will develop new machining programs for production runs or modify existing programs for different machines. During the manufacturing process, you will perform quality checks to ensure the program is producing parts according to specifications, making manual adjustments if necessary. You will also look for product or tooling modifications that might reduce the amount of material or fabrication time. Although no formal education is required, applicants should be familiar with the computer-aided design programs such as fusion360 and feature CAM. Salary is based on skill and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Develop Machinist programs for production runs
- Analyze drawings to determine dimensions and to choose cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates
- Modify existing programs for different machines
- Maintain tooling database
- Make manual program adjustments as necessary
- Troubleshoot issues during the manufacturing process
- Deburr parts
- Inspect parts and insure they adhere to print specifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Completion of a technical or associate degree program a plus
- Experience programming 3- and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes
- Familiarity with fusion360 and feature CAM preferred
- Basic math skills
- Inspection experience a plus
- Steel toe work boots and safety equipment (Mico provides yearly boot allowance)
- Proficient with hand and power tools
