Machinist Openings: Levels 1, 2, and 3

Aegis Worldwide is seeking several machinists to join a component manufacturer in Phoenix, Arizona. This environment is high mix low volume, this machinist can be doing two setups a day working with tolerances of .0005 or better. We are open to seeing 3-5-axis folks with experience on mills AND/OR lathes.

Key responsibilities:

Machine Setup, machine operation, quality control and inspection of parts, tool maintenance, and blueprint interpretation

Qualifications:

• 5+ years performing setups of CNC machines and can operate them independently.
• Proficient in interpreting blueprints and reading GD&T
• Comfortable using a digital or analog micrometer and other basic quality tools like a caliper, gauges, and an indicator.
• Experience machining aluminum, alloys, and stainless steel
• Mills: HAAS Matsuura Makino and Hitachi.
• Lathe: HAAS and Mori Seki are the
• Diagnose work holding issues and set a torque valve using a different tool path (level 3 requirement)
• Must have or be comfortable buying basic hand tools such as a wrench, Allen keys, mallet, and basic inspection tools such as a caliper, mic, and indicator.
• An associate degree in manufacturing/engineering or a certification in machining/programming, etc. would be a plus
• Experience with FANUC controllers is a plus

NOTE: A Level 2 Machinist will be able to read a blueprint, interpret GD&T using a tolerance of 0.005 or better, and change tooling. Level 3 is someone who can do that, but also make basic modifications to CNC programs and diagnose work holding issues then set a torque valve using a different tool path.
