Description
The Machine Specialist assists production through the effective use of electrical /mechanical equipment. To be trained and qualified by departmental leadership regarding the operation, cleaning, adjustment and minor maintenance of the Specialty Food equipment; trained and compliant with Lock-out/Tag-out procedures and allergen policies; Set-up, operate, clean and perform minor maintenance on complex production equipment; Assist production through the effective use of electrical / mechanical equipment. Perform complete changeovers on equipment in a timely manner.
Requirements
• Operate machinery to produce quality products within established time standards.
• Perform pre and post-operational inspections of equipment to assure safe and proper operation.
• Set up or adjust production machine(s) as required by the department to support the manufacturing effort.
• Documents accurate production reports and equipment information as required.
• Communicates with Maintenance Shop Technician of specific problems as they arise.
• Clean equipment and surrounding work area when finished or as needed.
• Assist and communicate with the Supervisor regarding unsafe or unusual equipment issue or conditions, damaged or unusual condition of material and ingredients, problem prevention, identification correction and any product quality issues.
• Adjusts machine to meet standards.
• Promotes a team environment in manufacturing.
