POSITION SUMMARY
Is Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the Rovicore machine, sets up and operates the Rovicore machine. Performs all tasks involved in the production of first quality stitched products. Follows prescribed work methods and practice safe work habits ensuring production process is efficient, meets quality performance expectations and is safe.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
● Work overtime, other shifts/hours/days and run other jobs as assigned. Although you are assigned a “normal” job title and schedule, we require versatility in order to meet customer demands.
● Maintain regular and reliable attendance as an essential function of the job.
● Understand and follow instruction, including prescribed work methods. Respond appropriately to direction and interact well with others. Work well independently and on a team.
● Perform work and make decisions in a timely manner. Include the appropriate people and information in the decision-making process. Ask for help if needed and help others.
● Follow safety guidelines. Work safely and use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the job which you are performing. Report safety incidents or concerns immediately, taking corrective action when appropriate.
● Ensure quality of product by following established work methods and procedures including inspection, quality checks, and documentation.
● Accurately record data manually and in systems as required.
● Set up and operate the Rovicore machine to begin production according to spec sheet and/or quality alert documentation and observe machine operations for evidence of malfunction and products for defects
● Sets controls regulating machine actions
● Perform change-over duties such as, creeling, leasing, and doffing
● Monitor process and make adjustments as needed, making necessary adjustments and/or reporting issues immediately
● Notify supervisor immediately for machine malfunctions and/or excessive quality issues
● Accurately record production activity including first quality, waste, and production tickets
● Problem solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
● Observes safety and security procedures; constantly inspects area for hazards, corrects and resolves safety issues within their control, reports unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly; actively participates in safety initiatives.
● Maintains clean and organized work area and is responsible for work area housekeeping.
● Operates powered industrial trucks in a variety of settings and situations
● Assist maintenance tech as necessary while performing required repairs; both planned and unscheduled, in order to return the machine back to production as quickly as possible
SKILLS REQUIRED
● Problem solving and prioritization skills. Willingness to make decisions.
● Good vision to distinguish defects, read documentation.
● Written and spoken communication skills to record data, read instructions.
● Ability to read tape measure and record data correctly, both written and within systems (data entry).
● Fine finger movement necessary to work with yarns, knobs, controls.
● Ability to lift weights of approximately 25 lbs. consistently, to 6 feet using assistance of steps, stool, or ladder. Ability to lift heavier weight as needed. May lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
● Ability to work in tight spaces, on platforms, remain in awkward positions when performing set-up or certain tasks. Must reach, twist, bend, push, pull, stoop.
● Ability to operate or be trained to operate a forklift.
● Ability to hear emergency warnings and moving manufacturing equipment for safety purposes.
● Understanding of professional conduct and appropriate interaction with others.
● Ability to lead and influence others. Ability to understand business needs and communicate necessary actions, effectively leading others.
● Willingness to learn new things.
● Must be self-motivated.
● Demonstrated experience in industrial setting as a Machine Operator or maintenance personnel.
● Ability to lift weights up to and in excess of 25 lbs. from ground level to a height of approximately 7 feet while working in awkward positions; twisting and bending
● Ability to remain in a stooped position for an extended period of time while laying combs, work overhead in a reaching position while changing packages.
● Ability to follow specification sheet to ensure correct set-up for style to be run.
● Fine Finger movement and coordination to handle and work with fiberglass and other man-made yarns is required.
● Ability to communicate verbally and in-writing, will seek clarification when necessary and convey information well to others including all relevant information. Should be able to read and interpret written information including specification sheets and daily production reports and also accurately record performance information
● Ability to stand and walk around the production area consistently.
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Prefer a high school diploma or GED.
- Prefer an experienced operator with above average aptitude for the process.
- Prefer experience in industrial setting as a Machine Operator or maintenance personnel or leadership role.
- Must have data entry skills or ability to be trained to enter data.
- Must be willing and able to certify as first aid/CPR first responder and once certified, be a first responder to supply first aid/CPR treatment as necessary.
- Prefer some experience operating a lift truck
