Machine Operator

the This position is responsible for operating one or more CNC machines or Finishing Lines. Included in this role is setting up the machines, loading of the applicable machining files, the placement of specific raw materials, and cutting of raw materials to meet final specifications. This position may include working mornings, afternoons, nights, and weekends according to business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Adheres to Safety and Quality Management Systems.

· Reads cut sheets for determining product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be machined, and tooling instructions such as feed rates, and holding fixtures.

· Operates precision CNC machines to create products meeting required dimensions

· Inspects and measures parts created to ensure specifications are achieved

· Maintains job routing information and completes sign-offs as required

· Performs other related production tasks during the available time

· Performs routine maintenance, lubrication and replacement of worn parts on machines in coordination with maintenance personnel

· Informs the subsequent shift operator of the production status of the current shift.

· Keeps work area clean and free of dust and other particulate.

· Other tasks as assigned by the shift supervisor

WORK EXPERIENCE:

· Related experience and/or training preferred but not needed

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Experience with manufacturing or construction a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

· Must adhere to all safety rules and requirements

· Ability to read, understand and perform standard procedures and work instructions

· Basic mechanical skills required

· Basic math and logic skills required

· Basic computer skills and software use experience required

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Travel – typically not required

· Job demands require long periods of standing

· Job demands may require working in a loud, dusty environment.

· Job demands may require occasional bending, kneeling, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
