- Read and understand work order/BOM.
- Follow oral instructions to operate machinery and produce a part that meets all specifications.
- Remove scrap materials from machine and dispose of per procedures.
- Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions.
- Inspect quality of finished product and report any quality issues to Setup Person, Shift Supervisor or Quality department.
- Monitor and measure specific characteristics of product using measuring equipment.
- Count, document, label, and pack finished product into totes, carton, skids etc.
- Effectively use small hand tools to accomplish tasks.
- Work in different work centers as production needs require.
- Assemble parts produced as needed.
- Input accurate daily production information in computer shop floor data collection system.
- Communicate issues to the following shift Machine Operators at the end of the shift.
- Maintain department housekeeping and 5S program requirements.
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment.
- Follow Good Documentation Practices rules in alignment with QMS / EMS requirements.
- Perform all work procedures according to established Quality Management & Environmental Management Systems. Perform job responsibilities and tasks in compliance to Company policies, procedures and safety and environmental regulations.
Essential Skills:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group dynamics to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Employees are required to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Employees will occasionally use a pallet jack to push or pull objects up to 60 lbs.
