Position Summary:

We are looking for a Machine Operator I to join our growing team! The process of making cutting tools is at the core of our organization. The CNC Operator I will operate computer numerical control (CNC) machines to perform various machine functions. This position transforms a blank into a quality cutting tool.

Job Functions forMachine Operator I:

• Follows all factory procedures in regards to safety, production, and quality
• Reads and interprets blueprints and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, control settings and machining methods and sequences
• Loads tool blanks in the machine
• Starts machine and monitors displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions
• Stops machine to change cutting tools and setup according to required machining sequence or to measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications to .002 tolerances
• Collect Total Indicator Reading (TIR) Measurements (circular run out) for tool to .002
• Critical thinking skills – determine the relationship between two measurements – for example, diameter in front vs. diameter in back within tolerance of prints
• Use of Winslow, Helicheck, and other tools for measurement readings
• Visually inspects and measures standard tools
• Adjust the machine (size) or alert the supervisor as necessary
• Cleans machine, tooling, parts, and work area
• Alerts supervisor or setup personnel of any errors, conditions, or problems affecting quality, safety, or performance
• Demonstrate commitment to company values and show a strong sense of cooperation and willingness to work in a team environment

Qualifications for Machine Operator I:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of computers

Preferred Qualifications for Machine Operator I:

• Knowledge of cutting tools
• Previous experience in a manufacturing work environment

Physical Working Demands:

• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate by telephone using English.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods (3-4 hours at a time) on concrete.
• Ability to lift and maneuver weights up to 50 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Environment:

• The workplace is in a temperature-controlled environment with better than adequate lighting.

Compensation type:

• $18 Hour + monthly bonus potential
• Reports to: Shift Supervisor
• Hours: 2 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Monday - Friday, or 10 p.m. - 6:30 a.m. Sunday - Thursday
• Classification: Non-Exempt/hourly
