Primary Job Function
Experienced level of Machine Operator requiring the ability to follow written instructions and read blueprint specifications. Under moderate supervision, sets up and operates alternately more than one type of production machine on a limited range of production work, involving close tolerances and set-ups, which are exacting, but not usually highly involved or difficult. Adjusts machine components to regulate speeds, pressures, feeds and operation sequence are ordinarily prescribed.
• Crane: Pole up, Strip out, crane, wire wind and coiling
• Braid: Wire wind and proof test
• Extrusion: The operator will be required to learn Pan handling, operate 4” and 6” extruders.
• Service – Miscellaneous tasks for set up, maintain FIFO systems, and use data collection/visual management boards
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Braiding: Strip and set-up braider as required.
Winding: Strip and set-up winders.
Proof test: Places coil of hose in tester, hook up to clamps and pressure test with water to proper specifications.
Pull powder from staging area and load powder into perform press
Set up extruder with proper pin and die according to set-up sheet
Load billet into extruder
Set limit switch and set dial speed for extruder
Examine extruded tube at beginning and end of each billet
Extrude tube onto pan(batch)/reel
Chart measures
Move pan to oven and load using a forklift (batch)
Apply mica dust to tube
Remove mica dust from pan
Monitor tube dimensions
Set timers and start ovens (batch)
Perform duties relative to production in the assigned area and is able to operate equipment and machinery in the assigned area.
Produce a quality product, safely, on-time, and with the least cost possible.
Review work orders, specifications or instructions to determine material, ingredients, procedures, components and settings. Accurately record data on process travelers.
Accurately complete computer transactions as necessary (labor & scrap transactions, inventory disbursements & cycle counts, expense items, etc.).
Participate in cell/team activities including, but not limited to, team meetings, problem-solving, Kaizen events, etc.
Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment through effective housekeeping, 5S and TPM practices
Follow all plant, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. Support plant lean, safety, quality and continuous improvement efforts.
Model the *** ethical conduct policy, the *** Values and Philosophy, and comply with all other corporate, plant, and regulatory policies and regulations as applicable.
Perform all other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
High School Diploma
6 months of Manufacturing experience preferred
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good problem-solving, prioritization and decision-making skills.
Good interpersonal skills/teaming ability
Ability to learn computer transactions
Ability to learn and successfully operate production equipment

Describe any repetitive hand use (simple grasp, fine manipulation, twisting motion) and frequency of job rotation or breaks.
1. Placing full bobbins on the braid machine and taking off empty bobbins (e.g. Braider set-up)
2. Wire-winder / Yarn-winder setup process.
3. Moving reels through the braid process.
4. Two 10-minute breaks and one 30-minute meal period.
Safety Responsibilities
1) Know and follow established job specific and facility wide health and safety procedures.
2) Bring health and safety issues, unsafe acts and safety suggestions to management's attention and correct those they can.
3) Actively participate in accident, injury and illness prevention activities:
• Assist in developing job safety analysis and safe working procedures.
• Identify and correct hazards and unsafe conditions.
• Accident, near-miss accident or potential hazard investigations.
4) Actively participate in health and safety training and demonstrate competency based on training received.
5) Participate actively in providing suggestions for the health and safety program improvement.
6) Know and implement regulatory compliance requirements in designated work area.
Working Conditions
Physical Environment
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Conditions may produce some discomfort, e.g. exposure to moving machinery, noise, dust, and fumes.
Sensory Attention
Almost constant need to give concentrated attention where multiple stimuli are changing quickly, and where two or more senses must be used in coordination.
