Union Metal Industries Corp. is seeking skilled and motivated individuals to fill the Machine Operator position to set up, maintain, and operate machinery and ensure efficient production reliably and with great attention to detail and safety standards. This individual will initially start training on 1st shift with an eventual move to 2nd shift.
Hourly, Non-Exempt Position
Responsibilities
- Set up dies or tooling for the machine to start a production cycle
- Control and adjust machine settings as needed
- Operate the machine and follow work orders
- Inspect work when completed
- Fix issues that might occur during the shift
- Set up for subsequent jobs
- Clean area at end of shift
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Understanding of production procedures.
- Adherence to health and safety regulations (constant use of safety gear)
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work with a team and good communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
Tools Required
All tools required to perform the job. Any tool needed to operate the machine and Jib Crane training.

Physical Qualifications
- Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work in all types of temperatures
- Must have some computer skills
- Must be able to read drawings and work orders
PPE Requirements
- Steel toe shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses, gloves and face shield if required, hard hat
