3rd shift hours: Monday - Friday; 12:00am - 8:00am
Position Summary
To run machines producing finished product according to customer specification and company policies.
Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities
- Operate multiple machines which includes responsibilities for changing over equipment between runs, make necessary adjustments to ensure quality production, and assisting other operators.
- Inspect products using gauges and measuring instruments to ensure conformance to customer specifications and communicate to leadership immediately if a quality issue is found
- Maintains accurate records.
- Examine job orders to determine details such as quantities to be filled, production times, stock specifications, and BOM's.
- Provide feedback for optimal safety, performance, and quality.
- Follow the required standard work and achieve the published standard work goals
- Participate in continuous improvement through cost savings suggestions, Lean Events, or other related activities
- Work and communicate in a professional manner with all business associates
- Must comply with all safety policies and procedures; including, but not limited to wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Adhere to all Caldwell Manufacturing Company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned (including, but not limited to, training of others within job class, sanitation, reporting labor & production, safety committee, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read and fully understand micrometers, calipers, and veneers
- Ability to read blueprints
- Have a strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to be organized and interest in a continuously improving environment
- Excellent communication skills and team player
- Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 75 pounds
Educational & Certification
- Preferred minimum of two years' experience operating production machines
