Machine Designer-Fabricator

We are searching for a candidate that has crossover experience in BOTH engineering and fabrication. The required skillset would enable the candidate to perform product design and develop projects from inception through product launch.

Description:

• Ability to perform product design and develop projects from inception through product launch.
• Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity
• Design and optimize manufacturing systems, equipment, and tooling
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing issues
• Identify and analyze opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
• Monitor production metrics and implement strategies to meet or exceed targets
• Provide technical support and guidance to production teams and maintenance technicians
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, such as work instructions and standard operating procedures
• Occasional travel to manufacturing facilities in Ohio and Wisconsin required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Two years’ experience in an industrial fabrication role
• Proficiency in MIG /TIG welding
• Ability to setup and operate common fabrication shop equipment including shears, presses, grinders, brakes
• Ability to work with aluminum and steel from 20 gauge sheet to ½” thick plate
• Knowledge of proper jig and fixture design and setup
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices
• Fluency in common math operations and ability to quickly convert between standard and metric system measurements
• Ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Technical understanding of manufacturing systems and equipment

Beneficial Experience:

• Experience in AutoCAD/SolidWorks or other CAD software
• Experience with machine shop equipment including vertical mill, lathe, surface grinder, calipers, micrometers

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
