Our company is seeking an experienced Machinist to join our growing team and work closely with our staff members. FlexMation designs and fabricates custom workstations and enclosures out of Bosch Rexroth aluminum extrusions. Using part machining prints, the Machining Assistant will be cutting, drilling, and tapping aluminum profiles in a fashion which minimizes waste and maximizes lean manufacturing principles. Must be able to execute precise measurements in millimeters, understand written and verbal instructions, prioritize tasks, and meet department goals. The standard work schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8AM-4:30PM.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Forklift operating experience
· Comfortable with metric system and able to use a tape measure
· Basic computer skills
· Strong creativity and problem solving skills
· Effective oral and written communication skills
· Good mechanical aptitude from professional or personal experience
· Basic understanding of technical drawings and prints
· Ability to troubleshoot machine malfunctions
· Good awareness of machine limitations and abilities
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Plans machining and job set-up using work orders and prints
· Pulls aluminum profiles from racking – forklift driving will be required
· Cuts aluminum profiles with automated Kaltenbach saw using a digital readout for setting lengths
· Utilizes best yield when cutting – minimizes waste
· Taps profile end bores with pneumatic tapper
· Stocks profile racks
· Counts profile inventory monthly for accuracy
· Uses best safety practices when using machinery
· Prepares profile kit orders for shipment
· Ensures all cut to length profile sales orders are done on time and packed appropriately
· Maintains an orderly and clean work environment, which includes carts, shop equipment and surrounding areas
· Attends meetings as required
· Complies with all safety policies and procedures
· Coordinates projects and workloads with production team to meet due dates each week
· Meets or exceeds allotted time for scheduled workload
· Offers constructive suggestions for the improvement of products or company processes
· Performs other related duties as assigned by management

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school education or equivalent
Proficiency with forklifts preferred
Related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required
