Description:
Harvesters pick WIH Macadamia Nuts from the ground and deposit them into poly bags. The work is paid on an hourly basis until the harvester picks up enough macadamia – at a set value per bag - to exceed their hourly wage, at which point pay is based on piece productivity. Individual hourly wages determine that transition point.
Physical Requirements:
1. Must be capable of squatting or stooping for extended periods without discomfort.
2. Must be able to walk 2 miles – up and down gradual slopes - in an eight-hour workday
3. Must be able to perform satisfactorily under adverse weather conditions.
4. Overall good health and stamina to sustain 8 hours of moderate to vigorous activity.
