You will assist the Chief Commercial Officer in all aspects of executing the Company’s aggressive roll-up strategy, sourcing new acquisitions, developing relationships with business owners and key decision makers. You will be successful in this role if you are a people-person, have solid business acumen, love to continuously learn, experiment, and have a passion for creating and maintaining relationships. Prior Business Development experience is helpful but not necessary. Financial literacy, solid interpersonal abilities and understanding of door and service businesses are considered assets. Accuracy, timely communication, and on-time delivery of projects are critical to meeting/exceeding goals.

  • Analyze solicited and unsolicited target data and provide go forward recommendations and action plans.
  • Manage the subsequent contract process to establish an acceptable Agreement.
  • Completion of Executive Summary and business case with relevant asset information, financial analysis, and recommendation.
  • Interdepartmental collaboration of acquisition information/insight necessary for the completion of financial modeling and, where applicable, the preparation of Offers.
  • Engage the Transition Team that will support the Diligence and Closing process, while remaining actively involved with this Team and the Seller/Broker that includes, but not limited to, management meetings, facility tours, and the compilation of market studies, line analyses of bid and revenue pipelines, revenue, and cost synergies.
  • Regularly communicate progress on pipeline development and deal making to the CCO, Company’s CEO and private equity sponsor’s deal team
  • Work with CCO to present business diligence findings and valuation recommendation to Company C-Suite and private equity sponsor’s deal team.
  • Lead deal origination and execution processes including financial deal structure, on-going tracking of projects including comprehensive management of costs, schedule, milestones, and financial metrics.
  • Develops capabilities and specific initiatives to support growth over a multi-year horizon.
  • Maintains detailed understanding of the details of the operations, including operational metrics and financial performance.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of related business experience. Sales, Business Development, consulting, banking, investing, M&A sourcing, technology/software, investor relations or entrepreneurship/start-up experience are all considered valuable experience and will be highly considered.
  • Aptitude and passion for Business Development and relationship management.
  • Bachelor’s degree with exceptional financial analysis skills
  • Strategic Development and planning experience.
  • The ability to effectively communicate with banks/brokers on complex issues and, as a result, develop strong, lasting relationships which will lead to significant growth.
  • Well organized executive with the ability to delegate and generate trust both internally and externally.
  • Tenacity, persistence, patience, flexibility. Ability to work diligently with others.
  • A leader, motivator, and a change agent with a long-range vision capability.
  • Strong people, time management and project management skills are required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required; must be able to communicate. effectively and professionally with customers and across all organizational levels.
  • Detail-oriented, positive friendly customer service are key attributes.
  • Proactive and forward thinking to identify and pivot to changing economic conditions and customer buying trends.
  • Computer knowledge and skills, i.e., MS Office Suite – Word, Power Point and Excel is required.
  • Initiative-taking and able to work with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and adapt within a rapidly changing environment.
  • Flexible with high energy, able to manage multiple tasks smoothly.
  • Highly organized, meticulous, with attention to accuracy.
  • Ability to identify critical problems and/or issues and, thereafter, recognize resulting areas of opportunity that will translate into increased business.
  • The ability to analyze value investments versus results and use this information to establish priorities.
  • Strategic insight to know and understand which businesses will succeed and why and how Vortex can best participate and add value.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, occasionally lift one to ten pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus to review contract documents, identify parts and clearly see operations and identify hazards in the production area.
  • Working Conditions are: 95% office environment, 5% warehouse.
