Position Overview:
The Store Leader is responsible for the overall success of their store. The Store Leader (SL) is responsible for cultivating an environment of genuine customer connection, building strong teams, executing visual brand expectations, and directing all activities required to drive sales and maximize results in the store.
Key Accountabilities: Sales Performance, Profit Performance, Talent (quality and succession plans), Brand Leadership
Key Responsibilities:
  • Owns profitability and business results for the store
    • Manages sales goals by analyzing store performance using data reports and adjusting plans and priorities as necessary for achievement of goals.
    • Responsible for the performance of store team.
    • Manages payroll hours to support the needs of the business and sustain profitability.
    • Assesses visual needs and directs implementation of promotional changes in order to maximize sales immediately and for the short and long-term.
    • Prepares schedules by assessing business needs, traffic patterns and store activity in order to maximize sales.
    • Directs team to effectively use sales driving programs such as online ordering system and outreach within the community.
  • Serves as a brand ambassador and ensures a customer and associate centric culture across all channels.
    • Drives and achieves a customer focused Omni Channel store environment.
    • Uses social and community networks to promote the evsie brand as a business driver.
    • Creates and demonstrates fashion focused store environments by delivering product knowledge and fashion expertise to our customers through associate dress and product knowledge.
    • Consistently prioritizes awareness for the customer in actions, behavior, and decisions.
    • Demonstrates and coaches' team to connect with and read cues with every evsie customer and their shopping companion. Puts an emphasis on kindness, inclusion, and patience.
    • Shares key information with district leader relevant to the start-up of the evsie brand (customer feedback, service training, product trends and challenges).
    • Leads by example through utilizing customer service training resources.
  • Talent Acquisition and Management
    • Makes quality hiring decisions and nurtures talent through strong networks in store community. Develops successors and talent pools for all store positions.
    • Provides current, direct, complete, and actionable positive and corrective feedback to others ensuring effective accountability.
    • Grows and develops talent using company programs such as orientation, LEAD, customer service training, etc.
    • Accurately appraises the strengths and weaknesses of others and coaches associates appropriately.
    • Creates and cultivates an environment that allows others to reach their full potential while also fostering a fun and rewarding working climate.
  • Maintains an operationally strong store and execute company directives.
    • Minimizes inventory loss by training and directing team to effectively use store security equipment, provide excellent customer service, maintain a clean and organized store, and thoroughly review daily sales documentation.
    • Ensures execution of company direction (Floor sets, Visual, HR, Operations, etc.) uses resources appropriately and meets deadlines.
    • Enforces and follows all maurices/evsie Policies and Procedures. Responds appropriately to policy and procedural violations and uses HR Resources to follow company guidelines.

Work Experience and education requirements
  • High School Degree or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Supervisory experience required in a customer focused environment; experience in fashion and specifically brands servicing children.
  • Experience interacting with a tween aged child preferred.
  • Proven track record of achieving and setting goals.
  • Experience in hiring and promoting talent.
  • Ability to lead by example, make sound decisions, takin action on ideas, and demonstrating professionalism.
  • Shows consistency to lead with innovation and a fast-paced learning environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including empathetic listening, reading customer cues and a passion for the customer.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and challenge a team to achieve results.
  • Diligence and the ability to persevere in the face of resistance or setbacks.

Unique/Physical Requirements
  • Work varied hours/days as business dictates
  • Able to reach, push, pull, stand, squat and bend for up to 8 hours or longer as necessary.
  • Able to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store
  • Able to operate computerized register system
  • Able to move or handle merchandise throughout the store weighing up to 50 pounds
