As part of their Continuum of Care, Love Home delivers the safe, structured, and stable environment our participants need so they can focus on their well-being, their recovery, and ultimately their return to independent living in permanent housing.

LVN (Interim Housing Site)
The LVN will conduct assigned tasks given by the Program Manager or their designee. This position works closely with the management and other staff to ensure that the compatibility and integrity of the programs are upheld. Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, will provide nursing care within scope of practice to the participants in our Housing Program under the harm reduction approach.
The main duties of this position include, but are not limited to: supervise medical staff at multiple locations to ensure proper protocols are being followed, ensure daily medication is properly set up for dispensing by medical and nonmedical staff, dispense and administer medication, obtain vital signs, monitor side effects, conduct medication counts and inventory, give injections maintain nursing supplies and OTC medication supplies, conduct and complete documentation of shift report, and maintain knowledge of and act in accordance with current legal standards pertaining to professional practice, reporting requirements, professional boundaries, and related issues.
This position also supports other Love Home staff to ensure compliance with Love Home Inc. standards, any contractual requirements to which Love Home Inc. may be obliged, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Locations: 444 – 446 E. Adams Blvd, Los Angeles, CA and additional locations as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a role model for all housing participants within the location
- Consistently communicate with Love Home staff about issues involving housing participants and other issues that may present themselves
- Supervise and train medical staff at multiple locations to ensure proper protocols are being followed including the setup of daily medication
- Ensure medication is properly set up for dispensing by medical and nonmedical staff, including training as needed
- Support oversite day-to-day services of housing participants
- Assist staff with housing participants supervision and service delivery
- Ensure housing participants are safely monitored
- Assist in maintenance of program records and files
- Assure Incident Reports are recorded and reported
- Assure adherence to all rules and regulations including safety and health
- Administer or assist in administering tests for infectious diseases such as COVID-19 and the flu
- Provide housing participants transportation, if applicable
- Monitor housing participants vitals
- Attend meetings
- Give injections
- Travel to other sites
- Ensure medication orders are being followed
- Assist management and staff in supervision during daily activities
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with housing participants and staff
- Respond to housing participants requests in a professional and courteous manner
- Observe and adhere to confidentiality standards
- Supervise housing participants in coordination of daily program activities
- Adhere to medication policy: monitor self-administration of medication, daily medication counts, document into electronic health records accurately
- Assure that all emergency needs of residents are met, report incidents as required
- Respond appropriately to emergencies including contacting appropriate staff and supervisor(s), interacting with police, fire, and medical personnel as needed
- Other tasks as assigned by the program management
Qualifications
- Must have and provide a valid CA LVN license, CPR and First Aid certification
- Demonstrate respect for and experience in working with cultural/lifestyle diversities of housing participants and staff
- Minimum of one-year experience working with a Mental Health and Substance Abuse in a residential setting
- Clerical skills and computer proficiency including using IPad and computer with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and sending emails
- Strong writing, communication, organizational, and record keeping skills
- A minimum of one-year sobriety if recovering
- Culturally competent
- Clean driving record required if driving is a requirement
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a member of a professional team
- Ability to speak with housing participants in an instructive, directive, firm, and compassionate manner
- Knowledge of addiction recovery, social, healthcare, supportive and other resources for formerly incarcerated, low-income, no-income, and special needs persons
- Ability to set strong boundaries
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English
- Must have a positive attitude and a desire to provide compassionate care
Working Conditions:
- Approximately 40 hours per week
- May involve traveling

Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 100 pounds
- Frequent walking and climbing stairs

Additional Requirements
- Must pass LiveScan background check
- Must have current CPR and first aid training and TB test (must be kept current)
- Must have minimum one (1) year clean; must submit to random UA testing
Support: Training for this position will be provided. In addition, the CEO, Head of Operations, or delegate will be available for questions and assistance.
