Lumber Yard Worker/Sales Associate

We are a small family run Lumber Yard. The primary responsibility of this position is waiting on customers, working outside around a forklift, physically loading material for customers, unloading deliveries and putting away incoming inventory.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, WORK EXPERIENCE and JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Provide prompt, friendly and attentive customer service
• Assist customers with loading their purchased products in a safe manner
• Be able to provide accurate count of merchandise and distinguish between similar looking merchandise within the store.
• Experience with cash register operations and cash handling a plus but not necessary
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written), high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations.
• Help to clean, organize and maintain the back warehouse and yard
• Assist with construction materials to and from job sites

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to walk and stand for an extended period of time
• Ability to lift up to climb up and down ladders, reach, bend, twist, kneel, handle large odd shaped items and stock items in overhead areas.
• Frequent handling of merchandise and equipment such as cash register, box cutters and merchandise containers
• Occasional and proper lifting of up to 80 pounds.

WORK SCHEDULE:

• Monday thru Friday, 12pm to 5:30pm
• Saturday, 7am to 12pm

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $10.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 32 per week

Payment frequency:

• Paid biweekly

Schedule:

• Afternoon shift
• Monday to Friday
