Lumber Yard Worker / Material Handler

Legacy Metals is a growing, family owned business located in Hopkinsville, KY and is a leading provider of pole barn and post frame structures featuring metal siding. We also operate a full service Lumber Yard and manufacture roll formed metal siding.

We are looking for a responsible, courteous, and energetic Yard Worker to join our team! This is a full-time position to be filled immediately with a pay range from $16 with more available for experience, knowledge and achievement. Earnings are maximized by our typical 50 hour work week from 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday which provides 10 hrs. of overtime most weeks. Previous Lumber Yard experience and/or building experience is preferred. Honesty and great character are important to us. On the job training is available. Job Description:

As a public face of the company this person will be located on the Lumber Yard and warehouse of our facility and will be expected to accomplish, maintain, present or perform the following:

• Maintain a professional, friendly appearance and atmosphere.
• Safely operate a fork truck / lift
• Read a pull sheet and assemble lumber into neatly banded bundles for safe transport.
• Help customers by loading lumber, metal siding and other building materials.
• Must be able to lift 80 lbs.
• Must be ready to work outdoors 98% of the time.
• Work 10 hrs. / day Monday thru Friday 7am-5pm (Off Weekends)
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and focus on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.
• Lift and move building materials.
• Maintain an orderly and safe work area.
• Must have the ability to read, write and perform basic math.
• Adhere to company policies, maintain empathy and tact.
• Be able to use and understand a tape measure
• Read pull sheets, identify colors, use a tape measure and fill orders

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
