Under the direction of the Doctor, the LPN will provide care for vascular and Wound Care patients. The ideal candidate will have experience in Wound Care and a commitment to providing quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist physician with direct patient care, procedures and dressing/wound vac applications as requested.
- Obtain or take and record patient vital signs.
- Set-up patient and assist doctor with patient treatment(s) and/or procedures.
- Observe patients, chart, and report changes in patients’ conditions, and taking any necessary action.
- Provide UltraMist treatments to patients as ordered by physicians. Reapply dressings as ordered once procedure is completed.
- Provide basic patient care or treatments, such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, dressing wounds, applying wound vacs and unna boots.
- Assist with positioning, holding, and moving the patients, as needed.
- Administer dressing changes and wound cleansing.
- Manage infection using and maintaining hazard control protocols as established by OSHA and office standards.
- Must demonstrate active listening by giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Must demonstrate excellent communication skills by talking to others to convey information effectively to facility staff, patients, and families.
- Provide information to facility staff and administration as necessary, getting clarification from the physician when necessary.
- Provide patient/family education and respond to patient or family questions simply and effectively.
- Must always represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner.
- Must maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance in accordance with assigned schedule and time off policies.
- Must maintain Treatment Bag and provide physician with all required supplies at all times.
- Must be able to comfortably and efficiently handle multiple deadlines and task assignments.
- Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in team settings.
- Position requires travel between facilities 80 – 100% of the time. Employees must have access to reliable transportation at all times, required in order to be employed as a Wound Care Nurse.
- Crisis Management – The ability to remain calm and make decisions during an emergency or crisis.
- Other duties and tasks, as assigned periodically.

Pay: $29.00 - $34.00 per hour
