PRIMARY PURPOSE: Use nursing skills to ensure that individuals maintain good health and are able to participate in desired daily activities and relationships.
LOCATION: HAVERHILL, MA
SCHEDULE FOR THIS POSITION: 35 Hours, Monday - Friday 7a-2p
KEY ACTIVITIES:
- Administer medication when in the assigned home.
- Daily assessment of all assigned individuals
- Ensure safe and effective personal care, including bathing, feeding, and mobility
- Staff training in medical protocols, personal care skills, specific treatments, and healthy lifestyles
- Provide skilled nursing care as prescribed by the health care provider
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO.
- Go on outings with the individuals
- Assess medical equipment for appropriateness and safety
- Update medical records
- In some homes, order medications
- Review medication sheets and medical documentation
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current Massachusetts LPN or RN license
- Experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Valid drivers license and a minimum of one year of driving experience
- The ability to travel within the service area of residential programs
- Computer literacy and the ability to document electronically
- Regular and predictable attendance
