The IOP Office Coordinator is responsible for coordinating general front office & clinic activities including but not limited to: registration and completion of intake paperwork to include medical screening assessment, handling physician orders & collecting secure urine drug screens (as credentials allow), verification of insurance benefits and insurance pre-certification, signing patient's into the program, obtaining daily vital signs, maintaining daily attendance rosters, scheduling appointments, completing daily billing, data entry & reconciliations, telephone/messaging coordination inclusive of triage of potential crisis/emergency situations, attending treatment team meetings, organizing and maintaining patient medical records (electronic/hardcopy as appropriate) and other related duties.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Must be a graduate of an approved school of Practical Nursing as evidenced by verification of state licensure or Bachelor Level Social Worker as evidenced by license eligibility in TN.
Experience:
Prefer at least one year of medical/surgical nursing or social work experience.
Licenses/Certificates:
Must currently be licensed to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Tennessee. Current CPR and SAMA certifications. If not SAMA certified, must acquire it within 90 days of hire. Will consider a LBSW with behavioral health experience or a BSW who is license eligible in TN.
General Responsibilities:
1. Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning the personal, financial, medical or employment status of patients of Tennova Medical Center and their families.
2. Must follow accepted safety practices for patients and hospital.
3. Participate in Performance improvement activities.
4. Utilize the nursing process to oversee and provide age specific patient care.
5. Must report safety hazards and initiate appropriate action.
6. Must participate in safety instructional programs. Communicate in an acceptable and easily
understood manner.
Collects data for development of care plan under direction of RN.
8. Educates and adhere to patient bill of rights.
