SalaryChristie Clinic's department of Family Medicine is seeking a full-time LPN at the Lexington location from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.
Duties include the provision of professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. A valid state license to practice practical nursing and CPR certification is required. Practical nursing experience is preferred but not required.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 75 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids and other waste common to a health care environment. Requirements may include working irregular hours.
JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
- Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider.
- Prepare equipment and aid provider during treatment, examination and/or testing of the patient.
- Arrange for patient testing and admission.
- Observe, record and report patient’s condition and reaction to medication and/or treatment to provider.
- Post tests and examination results to portal as directed by provider.
- Act as a liaison between the patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns, etc.
- Instruct patient and family regarding medication, treatment instructions and patient education.
- Demonstrate the ability to respond to triage calls using nursing assessment to ensure patients with emergency situations are given priority, and documenting appropriately.
- Maintain work list from provider and follow up on labs, tests, reports, etc.
- Administer injections.
- Send prescription refills.
- Obtain prior authorizations for medications, testing, procedures, etc.
- Fill in other positions as needed.
- Perform related work as required.
Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing
Experience
Preferred- Practical nursing experience
Education
Required- Associates or better in Nursing or related field
Licenses & Certifications
Required- CPR
- LPN
