Main Purpose of the Role: The co-lead teacher is responsible for planning instructional lessons and curriculum, as well as teaching, and assessing students in the core subject areas at the Lower Elementary level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overtly support and act in accordance with the school’s mission and values.
- Work collaboratively with co-lead teacher to plan, teach, and assess.
- Demonstrate appropriate planning and preparation for instruction.
- Develop and maintain a classroom atmosphere centered on intellectual inquiry and student engagement.
- Foster classroom community through inclusionary, compassionate, and supportive practices.
- Uphold professional standards of personal presentation, punctuality, professional courtesy, and discretion.
- Appropriately carry out specific responsibilities as designated by the division (e.g., duties).
- Honor the confidentiality of school and student information.
- Communicate effectively with co-lead, students, families, and colleagues.
- Engage in self-reflection and professional development through goal setting, professional development opportunities, and ongoing dialog with division directors.
- Attendance on field trips.
- Support admissions’ work through tours and visitors.
