Low Voltage Technician

Boys Town is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Low Voltage Technician to join a growing team. You must be team oriented and possess strong communication skills and be detailed oriented. In this role, you will execute the installation, termination, and maintenance of Low Voltage cables. Contributes to various system setups such as security, audio-visual, network, and telecommunications. Requires proficiency in cable management, adheres to industry standards, and collaborates with project teams and documentation.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Collaborates with the team to install Low Voltage cables, ensuring proper routing, termination, and testing.
• Follows installation plans and schedules developed by senior technicians and project managers.
• Assists in coordinating with other teams and departments to align cable installations with project timelines.
• Contributes to effective resource management to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
• Adheres to and implement quality control measures for cable installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Participates in regular inspections to verify the integrity of cable installations.
• Assists in diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to cable installations promptly.
• Seeks guidance from senior technicians and provide support in troubleshooting.
• Assists in maintaining accurate documentation of cable installations, including diagrams, labeling, and test results.
• Contributes to comprehensive reports for project managers and clients as required.
• Ensures compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations during cable installations.
• Stays informed about relevant codes and standards related to cable infrastructure.
• Stays updated on emerging technologies and industry advancements related to cable infrastructure.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Basic proficiency in cable installation, termination, and testing procedures.
• Developing communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills specific to cable infrastructure.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and learning safety regulations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Relevant coursework, vocational training, or equivalent experience in a related field required.
• Hands-on experience in running Low Voltage cables, with exposure to security, audio-visual, network, or telecommunications systems required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• BICSI, CEDIA, or industry-specific cable installation certifications preferred.
