Job Description
The Telecom Foreman plays a pivotal role in overseeing the installation and maintenance of telecommunication systems, ensuring seamless connectivity and communication for our clients. Your role involves supervising and leading a team of skilled technicians in the execution of projects, from planning and deployment to ongoing maintenance.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks (previously named Roles, Responsibilities and Tasks):
- Understands the scope of drawings and proceeds with work from plans and specifications
- Demonstrates the ability to supervise others in their work performance
- Directs and works with journeymen and helpers
- Plans work and is responsible for materials and tools
- Installs all work effectively, completely and in a neat and workmanlike manner
- Troubleshoots all telecommunication systems
- Monitors progress of work
- Does layout work from blueprints, shop drawings and schematics
- All phases of telecom construction such as rough cabling above/below grade, all types of backbone distribution, MDF/IDF construction, termination and testing of copper and fiber cabling systems
- Performs work at various heights, up to 100’ from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks or other safe work areas
- Works in restricted areas such as switchgear rooms, manholes, utility tunnels and vaults, crawl spaces and attics
- Communicates effectively with all persons and parties involved with a project as necessary to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of assignments
- Evaluates fellow employees of a lesser skill level
