- Creates tech packs with detailed specifications for assigned development product categories. Delivers tech packs to factories and adds updates as needed based on sample feedback and licensor changes.
- Maintains on average 15-20 tech packs per week.
- Works closely with the PDM and Design on techniques/sizing for each spec.
- Works closely with the PDM on learning production limitations for items they handle.
- Reviews and comments on 3D drawings from the factory before sampling to ensure samples are as close to initial design as possible.
- Communicates directly with factories regarding questions on the technical specs they create.
- Checks physical samples for all items specced and provides feedback or comments to review with the Product Development Manager and Design for additional direction on next steps.
- Provides final detailed sample comments to the factory.
- Update tech packs as needed based on sample feedback and buyer/licensor changes.
- Requests additional samples/panels from the factory based on sample comments.
- Provides feedback to Sales, Licensor and factory on TOP samples.
- Checks packaging on all TOPs to ensure it is correct and creates packaging when necessary.
- Reviews and regularly maintains all project management tracking documents, including product data in the Product Development tracking system. Updates regularly as development progresses to ensure data accuracy.
- Maintains and organizes samples in sample room as needed.
- Ships out sample packages if needed.
- Collaborate with Art, Design, PD, and Sales on new product ideas and techniques.
- Creates linesheets and licensor submission sheets.
- Works with Packaging Designer to provides legal and packaging info for all items. Generates styles numbers and descriptions for all styles submitted.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or Product Development.
- Two years of experience in product development or technical design.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator. Abode Photoshop experience is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office product suite.
- Relevant experience with costing, bill of materials (BOM) creation, spec sheet (tech pack) creation, design translation, product and material experience is preferred, but not required.
- Understanding of product creation and product lifecycle.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and ability to communicate within all levels of the organization (including C-Level) as well as with external partners, vendors and licensors.
- Strong attention to detail and organization to keep up with product changes through the development and production process.
- Should be comfortable working independently as well as with a team.
- Experience with product tracking tools/software or PLM is a plus.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams.
- Can handle multiple projects at once with the same degree of priority.
Salary Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $32.00-39.00 hourly. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
