In this position you will be responsible for:
- Acting as a representative of the state lottery related to the sales, marketing, and promotion of lottery tickets
- Traveling to retail outlets in the assigned territory to distribute lottery tickets and point-of-sale promotional materials
- Developing and establishing sales promotions at retail outlets
- Maintaining security of lottery tickets at all times and explaining proper handling of lottery tickets to retail outlets to ensure a secure selling environment
- Analyzing retailer data to optimize the promotion and sales of lottery tickets
- This position has an assigned route in a geographic area and will need to live in Henry or Des Moines County. Daily travel will be required
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the following:
- Making sales call to a retailer base
- Preparing various reports to reflect sales activity
- Recruiting new customers or accounts
- Making sales presentations or preparing marketing materials
Job Specific Competencies:
- Sales and Marketing - Principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems
- Customer Service - Principles and processes for providing customer services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluating customer satisfaction
- English Language - The structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
- Basic Arithmetic - Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license
