Form of workSystem One is looking to contract with a part-time Loss of Coolant Accident (LOCA) Engineer for one of our clients in Virginia. This is a remote 6-12 month position, with a competitive salary.
To qualify for this position, you need to have:
A Bachelors degree in Engineering
At least 5 years of Engineering experience,
LOCA experience
Proficiency with LINUX environments
Experience with computer programming and Scripting in FORTRAN, PYTHON, C+
Experience using nuclear fuel performance codes and understanding of fuel behavior under accident conditions
Experience using RELAP or similar code to simulate reactor systems behavior during postulated accidents.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performing new small break and large break loss-of-Coolant Accident analyses for Westinghouse and Combustion Engineering designed Pressurized Water Reactors
Evaluating and documenting the impact of plant and core design
Changes on existing LOCA analyses
Knowledge of LOCA (required)
The ability to work independently and efficiently
The skill to communicate your leadership potential
Possess leadership qualities to facilitate cross team and
interdepartmental technical deliverables
