Job Description: As an Occupational Therapist in our school district, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized therapy services to students with various developmental, physical, and cognitive challenges. Your primary responsibility will be to assess students' needs, develop appropriate treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions to help them achieve their educational goals. Collaboration with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team will be essential to ensure the best outes for each student.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of students' functional abilities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's needs and goals.
- Provide direct therapy services to students both individually and in group settings.
- Monitor and document progress, making necessary adjustments to intervention strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into the student's educational program.
- Offer support and training to teachers, parents, and caregivers to reinforce therapeutic strategies outside of therapy sessions.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices and developments in occupational therapy.
Requirements:
- Valid license/certification as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Arizona.
- Previous experience working in a school setting or with pediatric populations is desirable.
- Strong munication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members, students, and parents.
- Ability to create engaging and effective therapy plans based on individual student needs.
- Dedication to improving the well-being and quality of life for students with disabilities.
