Job Summary
This long-term substitute teaching load consists of 4 total sections of Social Studies:
• 4 sections of Cultures & Civilizations
Cultures & Civilizations is our freshman survey course examining the geography, history, culture, religions, and socio-economic and political systems of selected countries in North and South America. The long-term sub position would collaborate closely with other Social Studies colleagues teaching sections of Cultures & Civilizations and would collaborate as well with other members of the Social Studies department. Requirements

• Follow general curriculum plan, create lessons as needed, provide assignments and assessments, and develop other classroom opportunities to provide an engaging learning experience for students.
• Coverage of supervision responsibilities for the position.
• Work closely and collaborate regularly with fellow Social Studies teachers to create an effective instructional approach for your students.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
Position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in an appropriate subject area and teaching experience, preferably at the high school level.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Highly effective communication skills, strong organizational skills, and a strong desire to assist all students to be successful are also required.
Work Environment
This position requires constant contact and communication with others, multitasking, repetitive motion, some bending and requires the daily use of computers, various monitors, and other office equipment.
