Summary of Job
This is a long-TERM SEASONAL position with the Parks, Recreation, Forestry and Cemetery that is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and improvement of grounds and facilities for the City of Menasha.
Position typically runs late April through October depending on weather.
Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week, generally Monday-Friday 7am-3pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITES:

• Mowing and trimming in various parks, trails, and green spaces
• Transport and load/unload lawn mower/equipment at various locations
• Assist with the daily and weekly maintenance of mowing equipment
• Assist with maintenance of grounds, trees, flower beds and turf including weeding, mulching, watering, and dead heading
• Follow City and Department safety, personnel and administrative policies, procedures and ordinances
• Perform other related job duties as assigned

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

• Special events set-up and take down
• Maintain ball diamonds and other athletic facilities
• Cleaning and maintaining shelters and park restrooms
• Provides assistance with facility repair and construction projects

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old or older
• Valid Driver's License

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Must be able to safely operate a pick-up truck, gator, small tractor, commercial size lawnmowers, one ton dump truck, and trimming devices.
• Must be able to communicate with the public.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Operator must be able to get on and off the mower frequently to pick-up garbage, move picnic tables, etc.

• Ability to lift 50 pounds on a frequent basis.

• Overtime and changes in scheduled shifts will be required.
