Logistics Yard Coordinator

Standard Forwarding is a top-quality LTL carrier with 14 terminals spread throughout the Midwest. We provide overnight service within and between Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana and Minnesota.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Yard Coordinator will be responsible for transferring, securing, and staging freight by operating the appropriate company equipment or vehicle so that loads will arrive at destination in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. 

Key Responsibilities:

·       Operate all terminal equipment and vehicles safely to limit risk and liability to the employee, visitors, property, and company.

·       Performs or assists in terminal maintenance by using motorized equipment and hand/power tools for the upkeep of the property.

·       Report any broken or missing equipment to supervisor.

·       Organize, clean, and secure storage yard and work areas to be free of any hazards.

·       Assist with the preparing of loads for shipping by following all DOT, OSHA, and company safety guidelines to protect the load, public, equipment, and property at all times.

·       Assist with loading/unloading and securement of loads as needed.

·       Conduct required safety inspection checks daily.

·       Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills / Requirements:

·       High School Diploma or Equivalent.

·       Experience with operating vehicle and heavy equipment in a transportation environment preferred.

·       A Valid driver’s license is preferred but not required.

·       Forklift certified or become certified within 90 days of employment.

·       Must be able to operate all yard related equipment.

·       Good decision-making, problem-solving, attention to detail and customer service skills (internal/external).

·       Basic experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.

·       Excellent communication skills (written, listening and verbal).
