Logistics Specialist Ii

IFF is seeking a Logistics Specialist to join our team. This role will be supporting our IFF Pharma Solutions business. This role will be supporting our IFF Pharma Solutions business. The location can be in Midland, MI; Wilmington, DE; Plaquemine, LA; or Nitro, WV.

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for the full coordination of US shipments moving via all modes of transport (Land, Air, Ocean, etc.) and work directly with IFF Third Party Logistics Providers, Freight Forwarders, and Import Brokers to ensure all orders are moved in an accurately, timely and cost-efficient manner. Must meet IFF compliance guidelines, US Export/Import regulations, customer, and stock demand requirements.

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Fully monitor open orders and goods issued reports to ensure all orders are booked within the required lead-time, and that all shipping documents are made available to IFF freight forwarders in a timely manner.
• Review all open orders to ensure accurate information (incoterms, routes, shipping type, etc.) have been entered; discuss with regional CSR's if any discrepancies are found and ensure all necessary corrections are made.
• Provide appropriate and accurate documentation involving Letters of Credit and bank drafts to customers and/or bank in a timely manner.
• Work in close collaboration with IFF 3rd Party Logistics providers/contracted carriers and ensure products are transported under conditions that fully meet all transportation requirements for pharma grade products; ensure proper refrigeration, protect from freezing service, proper blocking and bracing, and proper handling of hazardous material, etc.
• Be an active and accurate user of SAP; basic understanding of sales and purchase orders management. Work with company freight forwarders to obtain the most competitive freight quotes and be able to provide them to regional contacts upon request.
• Fully adhere to company record retention policy by maintaining all shipping related documentation and correspondence in a designated and fully secured company site.
• Take full ownership of all assigned domestic and/or export/import orders. Work in close collaboration with our planning and warehousing groups to ensure shipments are executed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Cross train with other team members to ensure proper back up is in place.
• Be able to identify process inefficiencies and drive improvements.
• Respond to all NA logistics complaints or queries in an efficient and timely manner.
• Work with IFF freight Forwarders and brokers to ensure all booking schedules meet our customer requested/promised delivery dates.
• Manage and work to fully deliver on internally established KPIs.
• Prepare and run KPI's review meetings with Logistics leadership team.

• Bachelor's degree Required.
• Minimum of three to five years of Logistics experience (Domestic & International) with advanced knowledge of freight forwarder activities, export documentation, export trade compliance, transportation management for all modes (Land, ocean, air, rail...).
• Demonstrated understanding of Incoterms
• Demonstrated knowledge in SAP and processes.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Demonstrated communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
