Job Overview:
Contributes to concept that allows for appropriate levels of materials and stock supplies and support Material Handling on the shop floor. Reduces processing time and manpower requirements by stabilizing and optimizing the process of receiving goods, storage and delivery.
Responsibilities:
Plans and implements together with MBV IT Department improvements to existing systems to support logistics processes
Interfaces with MBV IT Department in revision of IT systems. May support launch of new systems.
May evaluate internal and external system alternatives or applications
Plans/coordinates the implementation of new system functionality incl. required trainings
Interfaces with end users throughout each project and during operations to provide training, assess improvements, and track effectiveness using KPIs
Analyzes impacts to changes in market packaging or logistics processes
Analyzes and propose logistics plans that affect production, warehousing, and inventory
Reviews procedures for material handling and inventory management to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize costs
Prepares presentations for management explaining problems and timing associated with each topic
Develops and implements improvements to existing logistics standards, methods, and processes
Analyzes issues which are in general more routine and implements solutions
Provides guidance to less experienced specialists within department
May lead small-sized project within department
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Engineering, Information Technology or other related fields of study
5 years of relevant professional experience within a manufacturing setting

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC ("MBV") is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that assembles Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brand Mercedes-Benz. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.
Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC has invested more than 500 million U.S. dollars in the new Sprinter plant, which officially opened in 2018. Today the MBV facility provides more than 1,600 jobs and supports at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers. More than 200,000 Sprinter and Metris vans have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations across the U.S. since 2006. Therefore, MBV celebrates a 15-year legacy of SKD production in 2021. The U.S. is the second largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany.
