Arthrex Inc. is hiring a Logistics Operations Specialist to work at our Logistics Center in Fort Myers, FL to to provide transportation arrangements for the efficient routing and delivery of product to and from international and domestic customers, suppliers and intercompany locations. We are also offering a $2,000.00 sign on bonus (minus appropriate tax withholdings), You will be paid the first $1,000.00 after completing your first 90 days and the second $1,000.00 after completing your first 180 days, if you are an employee in good standing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process international and domestic customer shipments with preferred Arthrex carriers while obtaining the most cost-effective rates.
- Process international and domestic inbound shipments from suppliers with preferred Arthrex carriers while obtaining the most cost-effective rates.
- Request spot quotes from transportation providers.
- Audit SAP data to ensure quality and compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of all rules and regulations governing the movement of cargo.
- Observe strict execution and control procedures for all transportation modes (Airfreight, LTL, FTL, Ocean, small parcel etc.).
- Process shipments in SAP and other shipping software to ensure that the shipping details such as pieces, weight, dimensions, freight charges, tracking numbers and documents are complete and accurate.
- Work with International Fulfillment and Global Trade team members to ensure transportation documentation complies with export and import trade requirements.
- Label and assist drivers with freight pick up.
- Ensure that shipments and deliveries are Post Goods Issued in SAP once shipment has left the building.
- Track shipments and monitor delivery exceptions.
- Adhere to the Supplier Routing Policy and the Domestic Shipping Policy.
- Required to work flexible hours as needed by the department.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma required
- Bachelors degree preferred
- 2 years of experience in domestic or international transportation / carrier related operations required
- SAP experience preferred
- Experience with online transportation system software preferred
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
(IATA) Dangerous Goods Transport certification preferred
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills: PC
Proficient software skills: Word/Excel/PowerPoint/database.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.
Language and Communication Skills:
Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
