EVO Transportation (Formerly, Ritter Transport, Inc.) seeks a Logistics Manager to support its growing local and regional truckload business. This is a position that requires a terrific personality with excellent people skills and a superb attention to detail. The Logistics Manager is the focal point of route optimization for company profitability and is essential to everyone’s success. This position oversees 30 routes per day, reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
· Accept appropriate orders from customers and process correctly.
· Efficiently plan loads and schedule driver routes throughout the United States. Reduce operational waste in the form of excess mileage costs, labor costs, etc.
· Assign daily work to driver staff including start times, instructions and directions in order to meet customer on-time delivery performance of at least 98%.
· Effectively communicate customer expectations to employees and meet high standards for customer demands. Assist in driver training and orientation. Coach, develop and discipline driver staff as needed.
· Ensure that our load boards are accurate and complete at all times. Load boards should reflect exactly what has taken place in true and real time.
· Ensure staffing levels are maintained and at an appropriate level to meet current and future customer demands.
· Problem-solve to handle customer service issues within a fast-paced environment. Lead customer service and customer communication for key accounts.
· Continuously promote a safe working environment following all FMCSA and DOT laws and regulations.
· Work to ensure billing department receives accurate information and customers receive what is expected.
The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:
· A minimum of five years of experience planning loads and dispatching a truckload fleet within a local and regional capacity.
· The desire and ability to make sound logistical decisions to provide exceptional customer service;
· A firm understanding of FMCSR, DOL, and DOT laws and regulations.
· The desire and ability to proactively solve problems;
· Great communication skills (written and verbal) with people at all levels of the organization, all customers, and all vendors;
· The ability to achieve results by using a positive approach to motivate our staffed drivers;
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to details;
· Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
· Experience with dispatching software and on-board computers is key.
